For the last
40 years, I have collected Canadian coins. After lots of
trade and purchases, my coin collection was almost complete.
Only rares coins are missing. To continue to collect coins,
other choices that I had, was to collect other countries
coins, which is not interesting due that too many coins
exists. I also discovered a book called MAJOR COINS VARIETIES
made by Hans Zoell.
I then noticed
that my coins had some differences from other coins of the
same year. So I began looking for theses coins and they
are still quite easy to find due that not everybody are
aware of. Sadly Hans Zoel stops writing this kind of book
in mid 70's. With help of friends and by spending lots of
time looking and searching coins, I finally wrote a book.
The first edition was released on February 28th 2003 and
now the ninth edition of
the Book of Canadian Coins and Their
Varieties is now available.
The book
has now passed the 600 pages with better quality pictures,
900 of them are in color (CD and downloadable versions only).
2011 coins have been added, new varieties and a fast
downloadable version, all at the same price than previous
edition. The English version was completely rewritten with
the special collaboration of Dr Ron Brown.
